Our stone is quarried in ledges that are around 5-6 feet high. In this image, you can see an example of a fissure, or a crack in the ground. Fissures like these allow minerals to seep in the ground, giving the stone its unique color and texture.
A loader extracts the stone slabs for the quarry by popping up the layers, one at a time and loads them into the dumpers to be taken up. The stone comes out in slabs in various sizes and thicknesses, which allows us to offer a variety of final products.
The stone is sorted based on three characteristics: color, size, and thickness. Based on these attributes, we decide which product the stone is destined to become. Most stones are destined further processing, while others are reserved as landscape outcroppings, which are sold in their natural state.
The stone is given a visual inspection, and any imperfections are removed by hand. Our careful and thorough quality control process ensures a cleaner, more consistent stone that is pretty easier to install.
At this point, the cut pieces/slabs are sorted to be sawn into their respective products.
Orders which require further processing in way of calibration, tumbling or veneer cutting, are sent to respective vendors and a proper quality check is maintained through the entire process.
The finished stone is now packed into respective crates with proper poly packaging sheets and carefully loaded into containers. The products are now ready to be shipped through our shipping partners.
